Introduction to Kadena (KDA)

Kadena is a Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchain that builds smart contracts written in “Pact”, a secure smart contract language with an automatically-auditing system.

Kadena leverages Bitcoin's PoW consensus process together with DAG principles to provide a Bitcoin version with better scalability.

Apart from the same security level as Bitcoin, Kadena enables unparalleled throughput, making it easier for enterprises to adopt blockchains in their business.

History of Kadena (KDA)

Kadena was introduced in 2016 by Stuart Popejoy and Will Martino.

Stuart Popejoy, Founder & CEO, is the former leader of JPMorgan’s Emerging Blockchain group. He has 15-year experience in trading systems and the financial industry.

Will Martino, Founder & President, has experience working for Juno (JPMorgan’s Blockchain prototype), SEC’s Cryptocurrency Steering Committee, and Qualitative Analytics Unit.

Kadena conducted its first token sale in January 2018, gaining a total of $2.25 million by selling 4.5 million KDA tokens at the price of $0.5 for each.

The second KDA sale took place in April 2018 and raised a fund of $12.9 million with the sale of 17.2 million coins.
