For Example: Ethereum (ETH), is one of the leading cryptocurrency which is being investigated by the SEC as if Ether tokens function as investments tied to the Ethereum network’s performance. Similarly, the SEC’s lawsuit against Ripple and XRP Token is based on the argument that XRP operates as an unregistered security. Furthermore, cryptocurrencies have a volatile nature, which makes them susceptible to manipulation. Their prices fluctuate widely based on speculations, news, and social media trends. SEC takes a stance against this manipulation and urges to protect investors from fraudulent activities that can deflate or inflate crypto prices. 2. Robinhood

SEC is also interested in knowing how Robinhood selects which cryptocurrencies it allows its users to sell or buy on its app.

3. Consensys

This company is the developer behind MetaMask which is a popular crypto wallet used by a huge population worldwide. The SEC is focusing on two points in this investigation: the ability to swap different cryptocurrencies within MetaMask and the option for users to earn rewards by staking their crypto holdings.

4. Uniswap Labs

As per the ruling on March 27, 2024, the Judge ruled that Clinbase was acting as an unregistered security exchange and engaged in unregistered sales of security. This case will be heard by a jury at a trial.

6. Binance

Binance is a massive crypto exchange, which focuses on international markets. Binance is not directly in reach of the SEC but it is keeping an eye on the activities of Binance in the US. 7. Ripple

Ripple and SEC have been in battle since 2020. The SEC claims that XRP is an unregistered security. Ripple disagrees, arguing XRP is a token designed to facilitate payments.

8. Kraken
