As stated on May 17, the newly introduced mobile game is a strategy game based on cards, aiming to attract more users to the Axie Infinity ecosystem. It can be played for free, and players receive non-NFT Axies at no cost to begin playing.

Since December 2022, Axie Infinity: Origins has been accessible on the Google Play store. The iOS version of the game operates on the Ronin blockchain, which is based on Ethereum (ETH) and developed by Sky Mavis. This is the first time Apple has allowed externally-purchased NFTs to be utilized on the App Store.

However, it's important to note that not all game features are available in the iOS version. Only Moonshard crafting recipes are visible within the application, and although users can earn token rewards, they won't be visible in the iOS version. Users must play the game on the Android or desktop version to enjoy the complete range of features.

Furthermore, the game will initially be made available in select countries in Asia and Latin America, such as Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Malaysia, and others. The developer has stated that it will eventually be released globally for all iOS users, although the exact date of this release has not been disclosed.

The Value of AXS Has Increased by 12%

Following the announcement, AXS experienced a 12.6% increase, reaching $7.53172 at the time of the report.

However, the results are not as impressive when considering its long-term performance. Over the past 30 days, AXS has declined by more than 17%, and in the span of a year, it has lost 64% of its value. AXS is more than 90% lower than its all-time high of $164.90 in November 2021.

In addition to the value decline, Axie Infinity has seen a significant drop in its average player numbers. Active Player data indicates that the play-to-earn game had less than 400,000 players in the past month, marking a substantial decrease from the over 2 million players between September 2021 and May 2022.

During this period, Axie Infinity's NFTs were traded with a volume of $2.3 million across 139,784 transactions.
